Arizona Heat Flow

Basic Information
Author:
Chloe Weeks
Description:
This dataset contains heat flow observations compiled by the Arizona Geological Survey, and published as a Web feature service for the National Geothermal Data System. Fields in the Heat Flow Observation Content Model will become XML elements in interchange documents for WMS simple features provided by a node in the USGIN network. Each feature includes an Observation Name, Interval Depth, Gradient, Uncorrected Heat Flow, units and Source. The dataset is spatially referenced to EPSG: 4326 (for interoperability). The data contained in the submitted dataset is available as an Excel Spreadsheet, ESRI service, WMS and WFS service. AASG Geothermal Data: Fluid Flux Observation Content Model

Basic Information
Author:
Stephen Richard
Author:
Arizona Geological Survey
Description:
The attached spreadsheet contains a content model workbook for exchange of information about fluid fluxes into or out of a well. A generic model is intended to be generic, allowing for oil, gas, water, steam production or injection (negative flow). Three observation types are specified--geothermal production (includes power generated), production (oil, gas, water, other flows from a well), and injection (any fluid flowed into well). Because of the wide variety of possible flow measurements (commodities, aggregation type), the model adopts a thin approach, which may result in many records being returned for a single well. Thus most data about the well is linked through the HeaderURI instead of included inline to keep the redundant data volume down.

AASG Geothermal Data: Well Log Compilation Workbook

Basic Information
Author:
Stephen Richard, Diane Love, Esty Pape, Celia Coleman
Author:
Arizona Geological Survey
Description:
WELL LOG DATA FOR SERVICE NEEDS TO GO INTO THE WELL LOG CONTENT MODEL (see http://repository.usgin.org/uri_gin/usgin/dlio/542 ). This workbook is designed as a guideline for compiling information from well log headers. Information compiled in this workbook can be used to populate the Well Header data delivery template, Borehole Temperature template and to populate Metadata records for well log documents. Basic information from the header is used to create Well Header features used to index borehole locations with the information associated with the borehole. Typically maximum temperatures are recorded from log headers, and reported as 'bottom hole temperature' using the borehole temperature observation service. Each row in the WellLogInformation sheet in this workbook will correspond to an individual log from a borehole; thus there may be multiple rows per well. For logs that are scanned or digitized and availble as online resources, metadata records will be created. The HeaderURI for a particular borehole (well for simple wells) is the cross-referencing link (foreign key) used to associate the header record, well log metadata, temperature measurements, and other information from a particular borehole.
