Wisconsin Well Log Data

Basic Information
Author:
David Hart
Author:
Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey
Description:
This workbook contains well log observation features for the State of Wisconsin. These will be point features that locate the well origin for a well bore from which a well log is available. The well log observation record describes the log (type, top and bottom of logged interval) and provides links to representations of the actual log data, which typically will be either a paper copy, scanned image, or LAS file. In some cases the log may be represented in an Excel Spreadsheet. 8 worksheets included in this workbook provide information about the template, resource provider information, the data, and a terms list and type code list for terms used in the data. Fields in the data include log and well bore URIs, top, bottom, and total depths driller, location, and scanned file URIs. The wellbore URI is the cross-referencing link (foreign key) used to associate the header record, well log records, temperature measurements, and other information from a particular borehole.

Iowa Borehole Lithology Intervals

Basic Information
Author:
Mary Howes
Author:
Iowa Geological and Water Survey
Description:
This dataset contains borehole lithology data associated with a geothermal temperature depth survey. Each interval feature has a top (without a bottom), measured from the ground surface (convention for interoperability) and a geologic unit description that will be identical with the content associated with polygons on a geologic map. Other sheets in the workbook provide additional explanatory material and provide information on the origin of the dataset, its review and lineage, and a data terms sheet providing terms used in the data. 15,222 borehole intervals with lithology are represented in this dataset for the State of Iowa, provided by the Iowa Geological and Water Survey.

AASG Geothermal Data: Well Log Compilation Workbook

Basic Information
Author:
Stephen Richard, Diane Love, Esty Pape, Celia Coleman
Author:
Arizona Geological Survey
Description:
WELL LOG DATA FOR SERVICE NEEDS TO GO INTO THE WELL LOG CONTENT MODEL (see http://repository.usgin.org/uri_gin/usgin/dlio/542 ). This workbook is designed as a guideline for compiling information from well log headers. Information compiled in this workbook can be used to populate the Well Header data delivery template, Borehole Temperature template and to populate Metadata records for well log documents. Basic information from the header is used to create Well Header features used to index borehole locations with the information associated with the borehole. Typically maximum temperatures are recorded from log headers, and reported as 'bottom hole temperature' using the borehole temperature observation service. Each row in the WellLogInformation sheet in this workbook will correspond to an individual log from a borehole; thus there may be multiple rows per well. For logs that are scanned or digitized and availble as online resources, metadata records will be created. The HeaderURI for a particular borehole (well for simple wells) is the cross-referencing link (foreign key) used to associate the header record, well log metadata, temperature measurements, and other information from a particular borehole.

Description:
This dataset contains aqueous well chemistry information compiled by the Geological Survey of Alabama, and published as a Web feature service for the National Geothermal Data System. Fields in the Aqueous Chemistry Content Model will become XML elements in interchange documents for WMS simple features provided by a node in the USGIN network. Each chemistry analysis includes a fluid temperature, source/citation, latitude and longitude referenced to EPSG:4326 (for interoperability). The data contained in the submitted dataset(s) are available as Excel Spreadsheets, ESRI service, WMS and WFS services. An excel workbook is available for download for year one deliverables.
