AASG Geothermal Data Borehole Temperature Observation template v1.0 (Deprecated)

Basic Information
Author:
Richard, Stephen M.
Author:
Love, Diane S.
Description:
This spreadsheet indicates the content requested for temperature measurement data obtained from boreholes for the AASG geothermal data project. Typcially bottomhole temperatures are recorded from log headers, and this information will be provided through a borehole temperature observation service. The HeaderURI for a particular borehole (well for simple wells) is the cross-referencing link (foreign key) used to associate the header record, well logs, temperature measurements, and other information from a particular borehole.

AASG Geothermal Data: Temperature observation v1.0 (Deprecated)

Basic Information
Author:
Richard, Stephen M.
Author:
Love, Diane S.
Description:
This spreadsheet indicates the content requested for temperature measurement data for the AASG geothermal data project. For the geothermal data system, temperatures are generally associated with boreholes, reporting temperature as a particular depth, or with fluid samples from boreholes or hot springs. Typically borehole temperatures are recorded from log headers and interpreted as bottom-hole temperatures (BHT), and this information will be provided through a borehole temperature observation service. The HeaderURI for a particular borehole (well for simple wells) is the cross-referencing link (foreign key) used to associate the header record, well logs, temperature measurements, and other information from a particular borehole. For temperature data from thermal springs, the spring is the sampling feature, and an aquifer is the target feature.

Subsurface Temperature Maps State of Arizona

Basic Information
Author:
J.N. CONLEY
Author:
O.A. STACEY
Description:
This publication presents a tabulation of the temperature and associated data of subsurface rocks and two maps showing the location of wells for which temperature information is available in the files of the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Most of this information consists of the bottom hole temperatures measured by geophysical log surveys of wells drilled for oil, natural gas, and helium in the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau tectonic province of Arizona. It represents the first phase of a subsurface temperature project designed primarily for the use of earth scientists interested in the geothermal-energy potential of the state. The second phase of the project will present surface water temperature and associated data of numerous wells drilled for irrigation and other purposes located mostly in the Basin and Range tectonic province of Arizona.

Field Notes- Thermal Springs of Arizona

Basic Information
Author:
Witcher, J. C.
Description:
"Identification of truly thermal springs is an indispensable aid in the assessment of a region's geothermal characteristics. Over the years numerous lists of thermal springs in Arizona have been compiled and we present yet another. Although the word thermal implies heat, there is considerable subjective or arbitrariness in its application. In geothermal work what is important is anomalous or unusual heat-something above a norm. A functional scheme has been devised that is useful in identifying those Arizona springs judged to be carrying anomalous heat. The method is readily applied to any new springs that may be encountered. The results of this updated version are shown in Table 1. Also, possible heat sources are briefly outlined in the text."
